Advocacy & Outreach

In the spirit of the Washington Charter for Communicating Science to the Public, the LIST sets great store by science outreach and education.

On the world-wide web, many LISA participants are involved in outreach projects as diverse as NASA's Space Place, aimed at elementary school age kids, or as the Einstein Online project, aimed at the general public. A more complete list of LISA outreach websites can be found in the Outreach section of our LISA links page.

Ultimately, the success of LISA outreach depends on the involvement and dedication of the participating scientists. Whether it's a talk given at a local school, or a contribution to local newspapers - there are many ways to communicate LISA science to the public. In order to help LISA scientists with this crucial activity, we are collecting helpful material in our Resources directory. We have begun by putting a few items in our section Images. Over the next days and weeks, we will add more images as well as Animations, popular LISA articles/talks and articles/talks aimed at a non-specialist scientific audience.

If you would like to contribute material, or if you have further questions about LISA advocacy and outreach, do not hesitate to contact us, either using the contact form or via e-mail under outreach@lisa-science.org.
