Second announcement for the Les Houches School "The violent universe"
This is the final announcement for a Winter School that will be of interest to many LISC members: The Les Houches school "The violent universe", from March 12-23, 2007
With observatories such as INTEGRAL, SWIFT, XMM-Newton, Chandra, Suzaku, HESS, AUGER, AMANDA and the first terrestrial gravitational wave detectors in operation, and with similar projects nearing completion, we're likely to get more and better data about the most violent events in the universe than ever before - and high-energy astrophysics is entering a golden age.The aim of the Les Houches Winter School "The violent universe" is to contribute to the education of the scientists - junior or senior - that are tackling the instruments, the data analysis and the related science questions. A rare opportunity to see all the different areas of knowledge involved - from hydrodynamics, general relativity, particle physics, nuclear physics and astrophysics right down to the diverse observational techniques for the space-based, ground-based (or even submerged!) detectors!
The registration deadline is February 22, 2007; further information can be found on the school's webpages,
